It has been quite a while since we last shared some of our news, and now we have BIG news:
We are launching the first in a series of workshops aimed at supporting people’s emotional and mental wellbeing in Pollença.
‘Mindfulness Training for Teachers’ is a tribute to the incredible work teachers have been doing throughout this pandemic in caring for the young, and to how, through their committed work, they have kept up as much ‘normality’ as possible for our children.
The course will be given by the renowned mindfulness teacher and clinical psychologist José Luis Reig, who in 2016, together with the then mayor, was instrumental in declaring Pollença a ‘mindfulness municipality’.
The program consists of 8 weekly sessions, beginning April 30, and will be held at the Club Pollença, which is very kindly allowing us the use of one of their rooms.
The other courses planned are directed at children and young adolescents, and will be carried out by Fábrica de Valientes (Factory of the Brave – what a fantastic name!) and Espai Saba from Puerto Pollensa. More details on those very soon.
In the meantime…
… we carry on the work we have been doing since January – supporting the food banks of HOPE and ‘the nuns’…
… and running our Sunday solidarity lunch with the Bellaverde restaurant.
On Easter Sunday we served a fantastic (vegetarian, as always) feast to 200 people. Chocolate Easter eggs and homemade ‘Rubiols’ included, of course!
And….
…today was the third of our monthly butane bottle supports in Puerto Pollensa, with an average of 60 people being reimbursed the cost of a gas bottle. |
When I say WE and OUR, I include not only our group, but all those who, through their donations and sponsorship, make it posible to do this work.
Thank you to all of…. Us!
